From Australia to Hollywood, Alycia Debnam-Carey is returning home to star as the lead role in book-to-movie adaptation The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.
So who is the young star? Where has she been? Who is she dating? We have all the answers.
She starred on McLeod’s Daughters in 2001.
(Image: Instagram)While we wouldn’t categorise Alycia, 30, as a rising star considering she has featured in numerous successful movies and series, becoming one of the countries most impressive young actresses.
She might even induce nostaglia for Australians after she starred as Chloe Sanderson from 2001 to 2009 in McLeod’s Daughters, and Dance Academy from 2010 to 2013.
Shortly afterwards, Alycia moved on to tackle almost every actors dream: Hollywood – which is slightly ironic as she starred in 2013 documentary series Next Stop Hollywood. Living in Los Angeles for more than a decade, she’s grown an admiration and well-honed eye for fashion.
Alycia also directed Fear The Walking Dead in 2021.
(Image: Instagram)Her big break in the entertainment industry was her role as Lexa in the sci-fi series, The 100. The series also launched the careers of fellow Aussies Eliza Taylor and Bob Morely.
Alycia then starred in A Violent Separation, Into the Storm, Friend Request and Saint X.
And fantasy seems to be the stars forte as she then starred in The Walking Dead’s spin-off series, Fear The Walking Dead for seven years before walking away in 2022. Not before proving she is a star in front and behind the camera after directing the show in 2021.
“I mean, I’ve basically been covered in dirt and blood for seven years,” she joked in her Harper’s Bazaar interview.
Despite her international success, Alycia still felt lost as she admitted: “I loved my work, but I didn’t have a home. As in, I literally didn’t have an apartment of my own to go back to between filming. I had no sanctuary.
“I was away from my family and friends for huge chunks of the year. And I was spending that time in this post-apocalyptic setting that is hard to separate from real life when you don’t have a tether to a life that is yours.”

As for what Alycia does away from the camera?
Similar to any well-known celebrity, Alycia is great at keeping her personal life private. The young actress however was born and raised in Canterbury in Sydney’s western suburbs with her musician father, a mother who wrote children’s television and a younger brother.
As for her current personal life, Instagram is normally the glimpse into someone’s life and while there are no bad photos, but she mainly shares photos with her friends, her adventures, and stunning selfies.
More recently, she shared some incredibly envious photos from her birthday trip in Europe, where she wined and dined with her friends in France and Italy.
There have been numerous speculations in the past as to who she could be romantically involved with, but it appears Alycia is currently single.
