Our favourite period drama Outlander will leave a giant Scotsman-sized hole in our heart when the eighth and final season ends, but there is news to celebrate! The prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood is returning for its second season.
Here’s everything you need to know about the show and what to expect in season two:
What is Outlander: Blood of My Blood about?
In a prequel to the iconic historical drama Outlander, in which Sam Heughn and Catriona Balfe played the lead roles, this series explores two love stories between Jamie and Claire’s parents in 18th century Scotland and World War I England: Julia (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy).
Exploring two different realities across time, from the brutal World War I to untamed Highlands of the 18th century Scotland, their paths couldn’t seem more different as war, family and fate threaten to tear both couples apart.

What is the plot for Outlander: Blood of My Blood season two?
In season one, love blossomed for Claire’s parents Julia (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) but time left them without each other in 18th century Scotland. By the end of the season, they were standing at the stones of Craig Da Dun hoping they would reunite in their own time period. But if they do, can they find what they once had?
As for Jamie’s parents Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy). Everything was against them as two members of rival clans but they choose each other, threatening their very existence by embarking on a risky romance. But as they make their choice, fate intervenes bringing their two families into war. How does a romance survive in a rebellion?
