Rush Hour 4 is in the works!

Great news for fans of the Rush Hour movie franchise as Jackie Chan has confirmed that a fourth movie is happening!

In a recent Facebook live chat with the San Francisco Chronicle, he revealed that the script for the movie was nearly finished.

Jackie spilled the beans when he was asked what he had coming up.

“Good news,” he said. “Next year. Rush Hour 4, I hope the script will be done. Tomorrow we’re meeting with the director and Chris Tucker and make sure we’re going on the right track.”

The 63-year-old told American radio station Power 106’s The Cruz Show that the script should be done by the end of October, but nothing is certain as of yet.

“The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, [we’ll] probably start.”

But, even if the script is finished soon, there is a catch.

“If… Chris Tucker agrees,” Jackie said. Here’s hoping that Chris signs on!

The actor also mentioned that he was still waiting on a script for a second Karate Kid movie.

But, considering that the movie’s star Jayden Smith is no longer a kid anymore, is it still possible?

“You can’t say Karate Man,” Jackie said. “I know Will Smith would love to make a Karate Kid 2.”

The original Rush Hour movie was released in 1998 and it starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker as two mismatched cops.

Following the success of the first movie, the duo went on to star in Rush Hour 2 in 2001 and Rush Hour 3 in 2007.

In November last year, Jackie was awarded an honorary Oscar which reduced the actor to tears.

“I still can’t believe I’m standing here. It’s a dream,” he said at the time.

“After 56 years in the film industry, making more than 200 films, after so many bones, finally… This is mine.”
