They say nothing in this world is certain except death and taxes.
And probably the fact that, every year without fail, Dr Chris Brown’s name will be thrown into the mix when The Bachelor Australia rumours begin flying around.
He’s famously charismatic and he’s a vet, meaning the cute animal montages practically make themselves.
Not to mention, he’s been working with Network 10 for more than a decade across Bondi Vet, The Living Room and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. His casting in the romantic reality TV series is a no-brainer.
And yet, despite the rumour mill churning out his name time after time, the star has never taken up the opportunity.
As his name hits the headlines yet again, Chris finally addressed the rumours on Sydney radio show Fitzy & Wippa.

(Image: Network 10)Appearing on the radio show on Wednesday morning, Chris was questioned on his willingness to join the series and asked how he’s gone about turning it down in the past.
“The Bachelor’s ratings are a little bit down at the moment and they need an elite bachelor [for the next season],” host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald began. “Name your price!”
After Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli floated the idea of a $2 million dollar deal in exchange for finally joining The Bachelor, Chris returned with a surprising admission about his unique terms and conditions.
“If you reopened the Bucket List for the finale, I’d probably do it for $20,000 and a drinks card,” the star joked, alluding to the iconic Bondi bar currently closed due to Sydney’s lockdown.

(Image: Network 10)When the hosts mentioned his major competition for the gig – Australian cricketer Shane Warne – Chris admitted he didn’t want to take that epic viewing opportunity away from fans.
“And this is why I’d never do it! I don’t want to be the guy standing in the way of Australia having Warnie as The Bachelor.
“Can you imagine? You couldn’t sleep at night, knowing that’s what you’d done,” he joked with the hosts.
In reality, the star admits he’s got a very simple method for shaking off conversations about joining the series.
Revealing he’s only been asked once “officially,” Chris said that any time it’s mentioned they “have an awkward laugh for an uncomfortable period of time and then it’s not brought up again.”
Chris is sticking with his regular role on The Living Room for now, thanks!
