Farmer Will Simpson and Jess Cova appeared smitten in the Farmer Wants A Wife finale, but six months on they admit parts of the journey have been “really weird”.

Watching the show back with the rest of Australia months after filming was strange for the pair – especially when Jess saw Will’s dates with the other women.

“We watched most of the show together. It was really weird,” Will told the Daily Telegraph.

“Because that was six months ago, and we’ve developed such an amazing relationship since then, on top of what we’d done on the show.”

It would have been even more uncomfortable when the loved-up pair saw all the messages on social media insisting Will had chosen wrong.

FWAW fans flooded Instagram and Twitter in the wake of the finale claiming Will “should’ve chosen Madi” over Jess.

Some went so far as to say Will “only chose Jess because she’d move to his farm but he’d have to do long distance with Madi”.

But six months on, Will seems happier than ever with his choice, despite any awkwardness from watching the show back together and social media reactions.

Just weeks after Will chose her as his winner, Jess moved to Berriwillock, Victoria to be with him and immersed herself in the country community, even working at the local pub.

“It was only two weeks because we couldn’t stand any more time apart,” she revealed of how quickly their romance moved once the cameras stopped rolling.

“Our relationship has been accelerated the whole way. But I don’t feel like I’ve rushed into anything. Even though it comes across like that.”

They aren’t the only success story from the 2022 season of FWAW, with the other two finale couples – Ben and Leish, and Harry and Tess – also still together six months on.

But the season wasn’t free of heartbreak. Farmer Paige and Farmer Benjamin both left the show without finding love, the former sending her final two home and the latter leaving suddenly for “health” reasons.

Benjamin was absent at the season’s reunion after walking out of the show to be with his sick grandmother, who has since died.

It was revealed at the reunion that he also suffered a health emergency but is now “back on track”. Some outlets previously reported that Benjamin suffered a stroke.
