You may have noticed some hype surrounding who the next Bachelorette will be.

In fact, there’s a good chance that you’ve seen the news that Gogglebox star and 2019 I’m a Celeb alum, Angie Kent, has been chosen to be the next rose wielding beauty.

Addressing the rumours that spread like quickfire about the next Bachelorette, Network Ten released a statement:

“Network 10 expects and welcomes speculation on the identity of the next Bachelorette,” a Network Ten spokesperson said. “Sit tight, we will have news to share soon.”

Little more than an hour later, the news was confirmed!

“After months of speculation, 10 is positively pumped to announce that Angie Kent is Australia’s next Bachelorette,” read the upbeat media release.

“Sweet yet sassy, this 29-year-old Bachelorette is wide open to falling in love, but also isn’t afraid to tell Mr Wrong to hit the road.”

A local publication today said that the 29-year-old has not only been chosen to be the nest suitress, but will start filming “in just weeks”.

And according to their source, “Angie is hopeful about finding love on the show, but she’s ‘not desperate for a man in her life'”.

While this would be a very good choice, the timing may be a little off as filming for each part of the franchise takes place in the exact same mansion, which is currently in use with new Bachie, astrophysicist Matt Agnew.

In October last year, the future of the show was in question.

Aussie betting company, Sportsbet, opened a bid that the show would not return this year.

According to the punters, viewers turned Ali’s season off in their droves and the odds were set at $3.50.

“More people are watching random people trying to win The Chase than The Bachelorette, which shows viewers are just not interested in who Ali catches,” said a spokesperson.

After much speculation, Network Ten announced late February that they were indeed casting for some new fellas to fall at the feet of one lucky lady.

According to My Casting Net, the new Bachelors will be auditioned at the end of April 2019 and must be single men aged between 23 and 40.

To apply you also need to be available to film for up to 12 weeks and upload two photos of yourself and a short video.
