Break out your glitter gun and pop on your highest heels, because Eurovision has well and truly arrived in Australia. SBS and Blink TV will be bringing that iconic Eurovision magic to the stage on Satuday night, when Eurovision – Australia Decides airs live on SBS.
Hosted on the Gold Coast by Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst and broadcast live and exclusively on SBS, the selection show will showcase ten celebrated Aussie artists, singing an original composition, for their chance to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019.

Tania found fame as one half of the pop duo Bachelor Girl, with smash hits including Buses and Trains and Permission To Shine.
“This is one of those unplanned, didn’t-see-this-coming little chapter in my career I’m embracing with a sense of adventure and excitement,” Tania says.
“Then, as a songwriter performing a song I co-wrote, there’s the icing on the cake right there!”

Known as the lead singer of Australian rock-pop band Killing Heidi, Ella has plenty of practice performing on stage – but she can’t wait for her chance to take on the legendary contest.
“It’s very exciting to be involved in anything that is the first of its kind, and in recent years I have become more and more fascinated with Eurovision, so it’s perfect timing!” Ella says.
“I’m hoping to bring a bit of traditional rock ‘n’ roll energy to a bombastic performance of a meaningful pop song.”

He won The Voice Australia in 2016, and now he’s ready to take on the Eurovision: Australia Decides stage.
“It’s an honour to be involved in a competition that celebrates and embraces music and diversity… and to take this journey alongside such amazing Australian talents is truly incredible!” he says. “There’s always something special about the first – scary but exciting!”

Legendary drag queen and reality TV star (Australian Idol, The Bi Life) is one of Australia’s glamorous Eurovision 2019 hopefuls.
“A sweet 16 years after Australian Idol I have the chance to show Australia how I have grown as an artist and a performer and I am so excited,” Courtney says.
“To compete to represent Oz in Eurovision is second only to being on that stage in Tel Aviv and singing my lungs out for my country. I’ve sat at home every year since Guy Sebastian competed in 2015 and have been so keen to be a part of it. Now, this might be my chance!”

The ARIA award-winning indie-pop band are known for their feel-good hits, including Geronimo and Let Me Down Easy.
“We’re excited at the prospect of representing Australia in what feels like the pop music Olympics,” the band said in a statement.
“The fact that this is the first time the show has ever taken part in Australia and letting the public decide who gets to go to the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 is really exciting for us. It will be an historic television event that we look forward to being a part of!”

Mark is an Australian tenor, who won the third season of Australia’s Got Talent in 2009 and has since gone on to release seven studio albums and one “best of” album.
“This opportunity to compete in Eurovision – Australia Decides means everything to me,” Mark says. “I’ve been a Eurovision fan since I was young and love the incredible voices and talents that have emerged.
“I’m going to bring everything I’ve got to the stage. I’ve been working my entire life for this moment, and I can’t wait to perform for you.”

Best friends Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross make up the modern electronic-soul duo Electric Fields.
“The Eurovision Song Contest is the Olympics of camp! It’s a flamboyant spectacle and we’re excited to be part of the first ever Eurovision selection show on home soil,” the pair said in a statement.
“We want to tell a story on stage with fierce energy that will hopefully shoot through the cameras and out of the TV screens at home.”

Alternative pop singer Kate is known for her lyricism and dreamy voice. She saw major success with songs including The Last Day On Earth and Caught In The Crowd.
“I’ve never done anything like this before,” Kate says. “I do feel vulnerable putting myself out there in a competitive setting. I’m trying to ignore that element, and thinking of it as a very eclectic celebration of Australian music. I think there will be a lot of solidarity amongst the performers.”

18-year-old pop singer Aydan made his mark on The Voice Australia in 2018, and now he’s hoping to represent the country at Eurovision.
“It’s unbelievable to be participating in Eurovision – Australia Decides. Having been a fan of Eurovision, it’s really hard to comprehend that I am going to have a shot at representing our country at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019,” he says.
“I have such a supportive fan base and I am hoping that together we’ll go on this journey and see a new generation of Eurovision fans.”

Introducing 16-year-old singer-songwriter Leea (pictured above with Australia’s 2017 Eurovision entrant Isaiah). Leena has been selected as a wild card entry after her song submission blew judges away.
“Being involved in Eurovision – Australia Decides means everything to me and the reality hasn’t quite sunk in yet!” she says. “Being the youngest and most inexperienced in the competition I know I’ll need to really bring my A-game to the stage. It’s unreal that I’ve got this opportunity to perform on the same stage as all of these high-profile Australian artists – artists I admire and aspire to be like. I feel truly honoured.”
