Prince William and Kate Middleton “do not want to be associated” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a royal body language expert has deduced.

Speaking exclusively to Woman’s Day, body language and behaviour expert Dr Louise Mahler examined the ‘fab four’s’ recent walkaround at Windsor Castle following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The unexpected joint outing on September 10 came as a surprise to shocked onlookers, as the foursome greeted onlookers and looked at tributes left for the late queen.

Kensington Palace explained that Prince William invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and Kate.

However, Dr Mahler says there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to the foursome’s recent public outing.

“Harry and Megan are fascinating. What is absolutely clear, is that William and Kate do not want to be associated with them. They are being polite. And it’s a very minimum, otherwise they’re getting no eye contact. Distance is being kept,” she says.

“The only conversation is about logistics, what’s happening now, and even the arm goes up to protect from William against Harry, and then off, no eye contact, moving off.

Dr Mahler says Harry appeared “angry” and tried to protect Meghan by placing his hand on her back, despite it not being royal protocol to do so.

“They are showing ‘we are different. You don’t want us to be royal, we will not walk the straight line. So we will hold hands’,” she explains.

“Everyone else was spaced very clearly and they’re together. That’s a statement. Yes, they’re supporting each other, but they’re saying ‘we don’t have to follow the royal protocols’.”

Dr Mahler also suggests there will be no “united front” at the Queen’s funeral later today.

“I have seen no weakening from William and Kate whatsoever, not one second of weakening, no eye contact, no spatial awareness, no conversation, nothing,” she says.

“Harry and Megan are out and they’re just going to get through. So William and Kate will do what William and Kate do, which is perfection. Harry will play up with Megan, and they’ll show ‘we’re different, we’re unique’. And then they’ll go home.”

Harry’s decision to join his family in Balmoral alone in the Queen’s final hours prompted many to believe Meghan was not welcome – and that the family feud was at an all-time high.

Whilst Meghan initially planned to join Harry on his trip to Scotland, it has been reported that King Charles had a phone call with his son advising him to not bring his wife to Balmoral.

Talking with The Sun, a source explained, “Charles told Harry that it wasn’t right or appropriate for Meghan to be in Balmoral at such a deeply sad time.”

“It was pointed out to him that Kate was not going and that the numbers really should be limited to the very closest family. Charles made it very, very clear Meghan would not be welcome.”

The last time both Harry and Meghan publicly met with the Royal family was during the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations earlier this year.

Since then, Meghan has released a divisive podcast where she has made a number of comments on her dislike of royal protocols and her personal experiences in the family.
