Princess Charlotte has officially started school and her big brother Prince George already looks incredibly excited to show her the ropes.

The milestone moment finally arrived for the young Princess on Thursday, September 5 when she, Duchess Catherine, Prince William and six-year-old George accompanied the adorable royal to her first class at Thomas’s Battersea in London.

In a beautiful series of new pictures, the world was given a glorious insight into her first day, and it’s every bit as cute as you’d expect.

Charlotte looked ready to go in her smart navy school uniform, while older brother George, who has been at the school since 2017, looked like a pro in his smart school get-up.

The moment was made all the more special for Duchess Catherine, who sadly missed Prince George’s first day in 2017 due to suffering from morning sickness while she was pregnant with Prince Louis.

But she’s more than made up for the unfortunate absence this time around – she was right there beside her daughter for the big day!

The Cambridge family arrived together for Charlotte’s first day at Thomas’ Battersea.

Charlotte’s curriculum at the AUD$34,000-per-year school will involve a number of classes, including learning the language of French, as well as partaking in art, computing, music, drama and ballet.

According to to the school’s website, the young royal will be given “choices and learn to have a go and persevere, be creative and solve problems, form good relationships, be safe, secure and happy.”

The four-year-old will also attend a number of outdoor education classes.

Prince George will be right at Charlotte’s side as she embarks on a new school chapter!

Princess Charlotte also seems very excited to be starting at the new school.

A source recently told PEOPLE: “She can’t wait to be with George at big school. She is so excited about it all.”

The source also said George, who has attended the school for the last two years, and is known as “George Cambridge” among teachers and students, will be helping Charlotte settle in.

“They are close in age, and they spend so much time together,” the source continued.

They explained that playdates with other children who aren’t as well known to the family “can be tricky”.

“So they learn to lean on each other.”

Princess Charlotte will have big brother George to look out for her at the new school.

The prestigious English school is known for the emphasis placed on the character they aim to build for each pupil. The number one rule is to “be kind”.

“We expect pupils at Thomas’s to be kind, to be good friends to those around them, always on the lookout for those in need of a word of encouragement or a listening ear. We expect our pupils not just to tolerate but to celebrate difference, including faith, beliefs and culture,” the school’s core values read.
