Prince William says Kate Middleton’s morning sickness is ‘ok’ after ‘tricky few days’

Just hours after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that they were expecting royal baby number two, Prince William was back at work opening the Oxford Child Centre Building.

Unsurprisingly the royal dad was asked about his wife who was due to to accompany him but had to stay at home in Kensington Palace under medical supervision thanks to a nasty bout of acute morning sickness – the same condition she had while pregnant with Prince George.

“She’s feeling okay, thanks,” the Duke told reporters who had gathered.  “It’s been a tricky few days. But we’re immensely thrilled. It’s great news, and early days. We’re hoping things just settle down and she feels a bit better. I’m going to look after her now.”

During his walk through the child centre grounds the Prince was given a posy of rosies by two year old Isabella Rawlings and chatted to a young mum about fatherhood.

Meanwhile his brother Prince Harry was also at work at an event for the Invictus Games.

“It’s very exciting news,” Prince Harry told a reporter.

“I can’t wait to see my brother suffer more and with any luck if it’s a girl he’ll suffer even greater,” the Prince joked. “I’d love to see him try and cope with that.”

The new baby will push Prince Harry down to fifth in line for the throne which Harry laughed at saying it was “great”.
