Prince William celebrated Father’s Day with the ultimate treat in the UK this weekend by bringing along his beautiful little ones to kick off the annual Sandringham half marathon.

The Duke of Cambridge attended the event alongside his two eldest kids, Prince George, seven, and Princess Charlotte, six, who joined their dad in rather apt outfits – a mixture of regal and sporting.

The three royals together helped to count down to the beginning of the race, as well as cheering on some of the runners involved.

In the images obtained by PEOPLE, the trio were snapped counting down together, with William sweetly egging the children on to speak into the microphone.

The two eldest Cambridge kids made a sweet appearance with their dad, William in Sandringham over the weekend.

The family were dressed down (with a royal touch, of course) for the event, with William and George wearing shirts. George also wore a pair of Nike sport shoes.

Meanwhile Charlotte looked adorable in a pink Ralph Lauren jumper and a pair of pink Nike trainers.

The location of the run is close to the family’s country residence, Anmer Hall, which likely explains the surprise appearance – the Cambridges are spending some time there over Father’s Day and likely for Prince William’s birthday on June 21.

In addition to the event, Kensington Palace also shared a sweet Father’s Day tribute to Prince William on Instagram, which featured a graphic pinboard with a several images of William, his own dad Prince Charles, his grandfather Prince Philip and one of Kate’s father, Michael.

“Wishing fathers everywhere a happy Father’s Day,” the caption read.

In the cute short video, fans were over the moon to glimpse an unseen photo of the family taken on the day of Trooping The Colour 2019.
