Prince William has bonded with a teen over missing his mother, Princess Diana, after the boy revealed he too had lost his mum.

The Prince shared his personal tale when he attended a visit to a hospice in Luton with Duchess Catherine.

Wills offered words of condolence to young teen Ben Hines, 14, who struggled when his mother passed in 2015.

“I know how you feel,” the Duke of Cambridge confessed, recalling his own devastation. “I miss my mother every day.

“It’s OK to feel sad.”

The pair took time to speak about important mental health issues during their visit.

A vocal advocate of mental health care, Prince William gave Ben, the youngest of three brothers, a very important piece of advice in dealing with the bereavement.

“As four boys you have to talk a lot better,” he explained to the teen. “We’re not good sharers.

“It’s a classic example of lots of talking needed.”

The Duke encouraged boys to communicate during his chat with them.

He continued: “Time makes it easier… I still miss my mother every day and it’s 20 years after she died.

“The important thing is to talk about it as a family… it’s OK for you to miss her.”

Before he left, the royal made the boys promise they would continue to talk through their troubles.

“Promise me you will talk to each other,” he said to the brothers.

Thomas Hines, the 20-year-old brother of Ben replied: “I promise, sir.”

Meanwhile the mood was somewhat lightened later on in the day when a mother approached Wills to ask for a special favour… Prince Harry’s number!

Prince William couldn’t keep a straight face after the mother’s request.

But she wasn’t asking for herself, she was asking for her single daughter.

Trish Cruise has been visiting Luton’s Hayward Tyler factory when she decided to make the bold request on behalf of her 27-year-old daughter Olivia.

Prince William couldn’t stop laughing at the hilarious request. “Oh no!” he cried. “You don’t want that!”

But seriously, we don’t blame her for trying!
