Like any family, the royals all have very special nicknames for one another – already, included is Duchess Meghan Markle.

According to the Mail On Sunday, Prince Charles, 69, has been so impressed with his daughter-in-law that he’s started to call her “Tungsten” after the rare metal because she’s “tough and unbending just like the very strong metal.”

Indeed, the royal baptism of fire Meghan Markle has faced would be enough to upend almost anyone but the Duchess of Sussex has taken it all in her stride.

“Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy. It’s become a term of endearment,” an insider explained to the publication.

“Cabbage”, “Darling” and “Lilibet” are just a few of the sweet titles Prince Philip has for his wife, The Queen; Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla have long called each other “Fred” and “Gladys” and Princess Diana used to call William “Wombat” and Harry “Ginger” when they were little.

Once she’s developed a close enough rapport, Meghan Markle will be able to call the Queen “Mama”!
