Prince Charles is undeniably a worldly traveller, but his next travel gig is particularly exciting.

In a statement from Clarence House, it has been announced the future King is set to visit Japan in October, and it’s for a very important reason.

In the statement, Clarence House confirmed Charles’ visit will take place from the 22nd to the 23rd of October, and while that’s a rather short period of time to spend in such a faced-paced and busy country, the Prince will still manage to get plenty done, it seems.

The palace confirmed his visit would “include a day of engagements in Tokyo to celebrate British-Japanese connections,” as well as include his attendance at a very important ceremony – the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.

Prince Charles visited Japan in 2008, where he was joined by his wife Duchess Camilla… and some adorable local deer!

The special ceremony involves the Emperor sitting briefly on a tatami throne, which sits inside the Takamikura, a grand pavilion located in the history-rich country.

It is believed there will be a whopping 2,500 people in attendance at the ceremony, which will also include a public parade through the streets of central Tokyo.

Sounds like a royally grand display!

The royal is sure to see some amazing sights during his whirlwind visit to Japan.

It is understood Prince Charles will visit the country without his wife Camilla for the trip.

But the Duchess of Cornwall need not worry about getting some air miles in herself this year – the pair will visit New Zealand in November, it has recently been revealed.

In a statement, Kiwi Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said: “I am delighted to welcome Their Royal Highnesses back to New Zealand.”

“I know that the couple have greatly enjoyed New Zealanders’ warm hospitality and manaakitanga when they visited previously.”

Prince Charles and Camilla visited Mahana Winery in the Nelson and Tasman region of New Zealand during their 2015 visit.

Charles and Camilla certainly have experienced several fun-filled overseas tours together as royals.

The pair last visited New Zealand back in 2015, where they shared some colourful moments, including walking through markets, meeting some quirky locals and visiting some of the country’s best wineries.

We’re sure their up-coming trip Down Under will be just as eventful!

It is understood Charles and Camilla are enjoying the British summer together in the UK at present, taking a short break from their royal duties.

In September, we’ll start to see the royals return to their usual duties, which will likely take place around Britain before they jet off on their overseas trips.

Hopefully they’re getting plenty of rest and relaxation for now, because going by their schedules, they’ve certainly got a busy remainder of the year ahead!
