The Duchess of Sussex has spearheaded numerous discussions about the British royal family, painting its rules in a negative light. But could forgiveness be possible?
During an interview with American magazine, The Cut, Meghan hinted at the importance of forgiveness but ultimately glossed over the question.
Meghan revealed a lot about her life after the royal family.
(Image: Getty)“I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy to not forgive,” she said.
“But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything.”
“I have a lot to say until I don’t. Do you like that? Sometimes, as they say, the silent part is still part of the song.”
The Duchess has release a podcast, which partly discussed the royal family.
(Image: Getty)Meghan revealed that by signing her marriage certificate to Prince Harry in 2018, she was also signing away particular freedoms the everyday person gets to enjoy.
Including no longer having access to her personal blog and Instagram, where she regularly posted her friends, yoga, hiking and her dog.
“Do you want to know a secret?” she asked. “I’m getting back… on Instagram.”
“It was a big adjustment – a huge adjustment to go from that kind of autonomy to a different life,” she said.
Tensions are high between Meghan and the royal family.
(Image: Getty)“It’s interesting, I’ve never had to sign anything that restricts me from talking,” she said. “I can talk about my whole experience and make a choice not to.”
The interviewer asked why she doesn’t talk about her experiences with the royal family, but Meghan only responds, “still healing.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would be leaving the royal family as senior members in January 2020, which lead to various controversial discussions regarding the couple and the British monarchy.
Meghan’s statements throughout the interview were full of cryptic messages and riddles left for the reader to decipher. Even the author was stumped as she finished the interviewing pondering if she had somehow entirely missed what The Duchess was trying to express.
