There have been various heartfelt tributes made to Queen Elizabeth II following her passing, but Kate Middleton’s younger brother James has surely come up with the cutest idea.

James Middleton has taken to Instagram to share his new Golden Retriever puppy, which he has donated as a future assistance in the name of the late Queen.

“This is Bertie, named after Queen Elizabeth’s father, Albert,” he wrote.

“The Queen dedicated her life to service, and it’s with great pride that I can announce that Bertie has been chosen to dedicate his life to service, too…

“After Mabel had her litter I wanted to donate a puppy to become a future assistance dog and this is where @guidedogsuk came in and Bertie’s journey began.

“I was so proud to hand him to this incredible charity, and will also be endeavouring to raise the £60,000 required to support Bertie throughout his training until retirement.”

Bertie is named after the Queen’s father.

James’ photos included Bertie playing in a blue tube more than twice his size and beside two Guide Dogs.

He has encouraged his fans to follow Bertie’s journey, which will be updated regularly.

“I’m so excited to follow his story, and will be sure to post frequent updates! To find out more about his journey and how you can help, check out the link in my bio ‘Bertie’s journey to becoming a Guide Dog’,” he wrote.

James’ love for dogs also helped him secure the girl of his dreams, wife Alizee Thevenet. The pair met by chance when Alizee – who was a dog lover herself – stopped James to greet his dog Ella.

Royal fans adore the Middleton family, but we can’t help notice how much Prince George is growing to look like his uncle, especially when they pull their cheeky grins.

The uncanny resemblance was noticed when Prince George stood on the balcony at Buckingham Palace alongside his British royal family at Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in early June 2022.

Although the young prince has been compared to various royal family members, this particular comparison needs to be watched as George grows up.
