After months of worry, Delta Goodrem has told her fans she’s been given the go-ahead from doctors to perform again, after she was forced to suddenly postpone a series of shows in March.
“I got the green light to sing.I know you have all been waiting for an update and I am so appreciative of all your posts checking in. My voice is feeling so much better and is finally coming back to me!” the 38-year-old told her fans on social media.

(Image: Getty)The Aussie sweetheart says her planned performances in the Maldives, the UK and Europe will now go ahead, as will her Innocent Eyes tour of Australia later this year.
“We’ll have an absolute ball celebrating this anniversary!” says the star, who pulled the pin on her UK shows in March after she “overused” her vocal chords and discovered she had “no voice for extended periods of time.”
Delta’s had a series of health setbacks. After battling cancer at the age of 18, in 2020 she revealed she’d been left unable to speak – let alone sing – following an operation to remove a salivary gland in 2018.
“When it’s your livelihood, you want to make sure you’re going to get out the other side,” Delta previously said of her problems, which left her with a paralysed tongue and slurred speech.
The Aussie songstress is ready to return to the stage.
(Image: Getty)In a teary video on Instagram at the time, the Aussie born songstress revealed the tough struggle had also compromised her mental health.
“I don’t want to go out, I’m super embarrassed… super embarrassed, I’m just over it. I’m trying to stay positive,” she said wiping away tears.
As always, the Born To Try singer managed to find the positive in the situation, channelling the dark moments into writing new material for songs. And while she says the “wait has been longer than we’d all hoped for”, Delta is now “getting there” when it comes to being stage-ready.
“Can’t wait to get back out there to sing with you all,” says the star. “I am so thankful for your patience and understanding.”
Audiences are eagerly awaiting the start of Delta’s international tour.
