Behind the scenes with Jessica Mauboy in Uluru

Australia’s favourite pop princess went back to her roots with a visit to central Uluru for The Australian Women’s Weekly’s March issue.

Australia’s favourite pop princess visited her place of calm – central Uluru with The Australian Women’s Weekly’s for our March issue.

Jessica travelled to the Top End for a gorgeous shoot and ended up getting a very special private tour of the area from leaders of the local Indigenous community.

They showed her some sacred rock art, native bush berries and tomatoes and told her stories of the land. Local women showed her how they forage and collect plants and fruits and how they make bowls and spears.

It was a truly special experience for Jessica and one she will no doubt treasure forever.
