It was worth the wait for reality TV star Mike Goldman and his gorgeous bride Bianca Zouppas, who were brimming over with excitement when they exchanged vows beneath a floral arch in front of 100 family and friends at a picturesque Queensland farmhouse.

“It was perfect,” beams Bianca.

Mike, who narrated Big Brother and hosted a slew of spin-off shows for 20 years, reckons he now knows exactly why people say their wedding day is the best of your life.

“It was incredible,” he tells Woman’s Day.

The couple planned to marry in Greece.

It’s been a frustrating journey for Mike and Bianca, who first planned to tie the knot in Greece three years ago only to have to postpone because of the pandemic.

Then they sent out invitations last year, but had to postpone once again.

“The week we planned to have our wedding was the week Queensland had its only lockdown in 2021,” says Bianca. “So it really is third time lucky for us, and oh my gosh, it was the best day ever. Mikey was emotional and I was joyous.”

The TV star, 49, met performance artist Bianca, 29, when he took an acting class in Brisbane, and while sparks immediately flew for the TV presenter, he reluctantly decided to just build a friendship because of the age difference.

The attraction couldn’t be denied for long, and a few months after Bianca made the first move and kissed him, Mike proposed during a romantic picnic on Stradbroke Island with a beautiful rose gold diamond ring.

“Mikey is a showman but you get to know him and he has the biggest heart of anyone you could meet,” says a smitten Bianca.

The couple were friends first.

The couple actually secretly married two weeks after their engagement party in 2019 because Mike’s famous father, radio legend Grant Goldman, was battling cancer and unable to travel to their first planned wedding in Greece.

“He told me, ‘That girl is something special and you better hold onto her,'” smiles Mike, whose dad sadly passed away just six months after he saw the two of them exchange vows in a ceremony they kept secret until his death.

Three weeks ago the couple did it all over again, this time in front of all their close friends and family at Oakhurst Station with an incredible three-day glamping event.

“There wasn’t a dry eye in the house,” says Mike, who has recently been focusing on his acting career.

He had to hold back his own tears when he saw Bianca for the first time in the wedding gown she helped design, and on top of their own vows, Mike made a “pinkie swear” that he would love her forever.

“Bianca came down the aisle with her mum and dad, and it was such a special moment when everyone was looking at her in her beautiful wedding dress. To have all your family and friends there witnessing the love we share was incredible.”

Adds Bianca, “I feel like our hearts expanded.”

The couple left last week for a month-long honeymoon, starting in the city of love, Paris, before also travelling to Greece, Spain and Portugal.

They plan to immediately try to start a family with the help of IVF when they return to Brisbane.

“I’ve never met anyone like Bianca,” says Mike. “She’s the most amazing woman and I can’t believe she wants to spend the rest of her life with me. I’m just so blessed.”
