He may have been a welcome comedic relief to fellow contestants on The Challenge, but that didn’t save David Subritzky from being eliminated.

After a comfortable few weeks at the top, an unlikely pairing with former The Bachelor star Jessica Brody paved the way for his fall from grace amidst accusations for betrayal and backstabbing.

But according to David, his only regret about his gameplay was that he was ”too honest.”

“Honestly, the entire time in was in the house I was authentically me; I feel like I did everything I could,” the former I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here star tells Now to Love.

”In hindsight perhaps, I shouldn’t have been AS honest but frankly, anything I say behind your back I’ll also tell you to your face.

”I’m still not sure though if how I handle the whole situation with Brooke B [Blurton] the best that I could”.

Speaking on his controversial decision to share confidential information from a private conversation he had with Brooke with this week’s winners Conor and Cyrell, David said he did ”nothing wrong”.

”I was genuinely there to support her, she was crying everyday, not wanting to be there.

”But if you are crying every day, pack your bags babe, I was still there to play the game”.

Following two stints on reality TV, David said The Challenge was way more ”cutthroat” and ”political” than I’m a Celeb…Get Me Out of Here.

”They are both two completely different experiences. I’m a Celeb was like a family camping holiday whereas The Challenge is like the influencer Olympics, it was way more cutthroat and you really had to play a social game with everyone.”

Facing off against Grant and Kiki in the elimination challenge, David and partner Jessica took turns spelling words backwards. For every incorrect word, additional tyres were added to the pile which had to be moved from one side of the battle square to the other, and successfully stacked into a tower.

David said it wasn’t a shock that he was in the bottom two given he was partnered with Jessica.

”Jess slowed us down, she called me a weak player bit PLOT TWIST, she was actually the weak one. I basically did the work for two people.

”We would have had a better change in the elimination round if we were facing Brooke and Konrad like we wanted given Brooke’s head just wasn’t in the game.”

And teasing his next career move, the always entertaining reality star even joked about his return to TV.

”You never know what is around the corner! The one thing that makes me happy is making people smile and laugh and if that’s what I can do in the entertainment industry then that’s where I want to stay.

‘Perhaps I’m replacing Carrie Bickmore on The Project? Who knows!”

In show and real-life bestie Emily Seebom has David’s tick of approval for the win, ”let’s hope she brings home the crown” he says.
