When Nicole Kidman heard the news that her beloved nieces and nephews lost their dad she no doubt felt the very same kind of grief that consumed her when her own father, Dr Antony Kidman, unexpectedly lost his life just six month prior.

So getting on a plane to support her sister Antonia, 45, and her kids, Lucia, 17, Hamish, 14, James, 12 and Sybella, eight, amidst pain with which she was all too familiar was paramount.

Lucia is a spitting image of her mum Antonia and aunty Nicole.

Although they’re all still working through their heartache it seems the tight-knit family are smiling again.

Nicole and her lookalike niece Lucia have formed a particularly close bond, with the teenager even joining her aunt in London in recent weeks.

This week, Nic took to Facebook to share a stunning image of the pair.

“Love you Lu, happy sweet seventeen. xxNic,” she wrote as a caption.

The Paddington star is relishing every minute she spends with her niece after Woman’s Day revealed she was unable to attend her own daughter Isabella Cruise’s wedding last month.

It’s widely understood that Nicole and 22-year-old Isabella have a difficult relationship thanks to her ties to Scientology instilled by dad Tom Cruise, who also was not at the wedding.

Isabella got married to Max Parker at The Dorchester Hotel in London on September 18.

And although Woman’s Day is told the mum of four couldn’t be happier for her eldest child, she still wishes she could have seen Bella tie the knot.

The 48-year-old has clearly found great comfort in her relationship with Lucia after she flew her out to London recently from Sydney so she could she Nicole’s play Photograph 51 – a production which is the Oscar winner’s way of paying tribute to her late dad.
