As a couple who keeps their personal life quite private, Aussie actors Daniel MacPherson, 40, and Zoe Ventoura, 39, shocked fans last week when they were photographed holding a baby.
Most of the public had not realised the Home and Away star had been pregnant, let alone given birth to their first child, so the photos came as a surprise.
And now, the couple has officially confirmed the happy news and revealed new details to the Herald-Sun.
“I am very happy to confirm that Zoë and Dan welcomed a baby boy in December last year,” a spokesperson for the couple told the publication.
“Austin Xavier arrived healthy and smiling. Mum, Dad and baby are all happy and well.”

Asked by TV WEEK in 2018 whether children were in their sights, Dan confirmed it was something they were hoping for.
“That’s the question on the lips of our families and friends,” Dan smiled. “Mine and Zoe’s brothers have two daughters each, so it takes the pressure off.”
He added that having a family is still high on their list, but the couple splitting their time between the US, Australia and overseas projects was making it tricky during that period of their lives.
“We’re working towards it,” he said. “But being in the same timezone would make it much easier.”

The couple previously admitted they were “working towards” having a family.

“We are getting to that time in our lives where that is the next thing for us,” the Strike Back star admitted.
“We don’t know quite when that will be but it’s definitely in our near future.”
The couple met on the set of Wild Boys in 2011.

“It’s been a beautiful few days. We couldn’t be happier.”
