In this digital age we are swamped with hilarious memes on a daily basis. But after an awkward moment between Ivanka Trump and several world leaders at the G20 summit in Japan, we think we have a new favourite piece of content.

The US President’s daughter has sparked the trending Twitter hashtag #UnwantedIvanka and we can’t get enough!

On Saturday, the French government released a 19 second clip of a discussion at the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan.

In the very awkward clip, French president Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, International Monetary Fund director Christine Lagarde and British Prime Minister Theresa May are engaged in conversation when the First Daughter attempts to join in – and it’s extremely awkward, to say the least!

US journalist Erin Ryan posted this callout on Twitter: “Somebody please Photoshop Ivanka the unwelcome interloper boxing way above her weight into the following: Megan Rapinoe’s goal celebration, Nixon-Elvis meeting, Beyoncé’s Coachella performance, Curies’ lab, constitutional convention, cast of Big Little Lies.”

And boy did the Internet respond!

Since that moment, Twitter users have been flexing their Photoshop muscles and inserted Ivanka into significant moments from history, ranging from the Yalta peace conference alongside Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Joseph Stalin, to an iconic scene from Mean Girls.

Funnily enough, Trump’s daughter hasn’t responded to her trending Twitter success, but did share a video from her time at the summit.

“Thank you Prime Minster Abe for inviting me to address heads of State on the economic + national security imperative of economically empowering women globally,” she captioned the montage of herself and notable global dignitaries.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to elevate this critical issue, which must remain at the heart of the G20 agenda.”
