In a devastating blow to chocoholics across Australia, Cadbury has issued a recall of their highly sought-after Caramilk blocks.

Just weeks after the chocolate bars’ re-release, which sent Australia into a near-meltdown, the company is recalling two batches of the hot product for food safety reasons.

In a statement released today, chocolate blocks with best before dates 17/01/2019 and 21/01/2019 were “found to contain small, flexible pieces of food grade plastic as a result of a machinery fault during the manufacturing process.”

Cadbury have urged customers to return the product to prevent injuries that could be caused if consumed.

But, some aren’t letting go that easily!

“I have 5 blocks with the date 17/01/19 on them you no what id rather choke on the god dam plastic then give it back,” Trish Adams commented.

Caramilk hasn’t been seen on Australian shelves since the mid-1990s, after a short four-year run. As with all old-school favourites, fans were ecstatic to see their return.

Some have even found it’s the perfect opportunity to finally start their side-hustle – flogging the hot property online – and they are looking to turn an exorbitant profit. One enterprising Victorian has listed selling seven blocks for a huge $150 online.

If you were lucky enough to get your hands on a a chocolate block, and then have had the pleasure cruelly taken away, you can return the bars to the place of purchase without a receipt – and just hope they have some to replace it!
