There are many things in the world that might bring us down at any given time, but then you see videos like this one – and all is well again.

At the recent British Fashion Awards, where Duchess Meghan made a surprise appearance, a video capturing the Duchess on stage has us all swooning, and it’s not solely because her baby bump looks so darn cute.

The pregnant Duchess couldn’t have looked more of the doting mother-to-be as she stood on stage to present the British Womenswear Designer of the Year award to Claire Waight Keller of Givenchy.

The royal gushed about Keller, who was the very designer behind her wedding dress, before presenting her with the award and sharing a warm embrace.

But it was another moment that occurred while Meghan was on-stage that really warmed our hearts.

One guest was filming the Duchess as she cradled her baby bump on stage, and in the video, posted to Instagram by a fan account, you can actually see the Duchess close her eyes and have a moment as her baby kicks.

We’ll just be over here watching this about 50 times over now – see it for yourself in the player below!

The video was captioned by the fan account: “Baby Sussex is full of energy!! Look how he/she kicks mummy hard and Meghan closes her eyes”.

It’s abundantly clear that Meghan is excited to become a mum – the way she cradles her bump at any opportunity is case in point.

And as it turns out, there’s actually a very good reason for it.

Midwife trainer Katherine Graves told The Daily Mail that it’s a positive thing for mums to hold their baby bump.

“It’s a positive thing for both mum and baby to touch and reassure baby, which is vital for baby’s bonding and well being, staving off postnatal depression and facilitating healthy connection for all,” she told the publication.

She said babies can actually recognise what they have experienced in the womb after they were born, strengthening the bond with their mother from day dot.

“If touching her bump does nothing more than help Meghan feel calm, even that will have a profound effect on her baby.”

And we certainly can’t blame her – if she wasn’t cradling her bump like that we might never have seen that gorgeous reaction to her feeling it kick!

Duchess Meghan’s pregnancy has been heavily followed since her and Prince Harry’s big announcement in October.

It is expected that the Duchess will give birth in the UK spring, and it’s clear Prince Harry is just as excited for the impending arrival.

While on their royal tour of Australia in October, the ginger Prince even admitted which gender he’s hoping for when a person called out to him: “Congratulations, I hope it’s a girl!”

Harry sweetly replied: “So do I!”

When the royal parents-to-be later visited New Zealand, Prince Harry also adorably shared his nickname for their growing child.

Speaking to guests while visiting the Abel Tasman on the South Island of New Zealand, the Prince said: “From myself, my wife and our little bump, we are so grateful to be here.”
