Ahead of The Bachelor‘s Laura Byrne and Matty ‘J’ Johnson tying the knot this year, the couple had another milestone to celebrate – their eldest daughter Marlie-Mae’s third birthday.
The day was eventually a success, however it began with a rocky start.
Laura shared a selfie on her Instagram stories explaining that her eldest daughter cried because she didn’t want to go to her own party.
“When you’re trying to get the kids out of the house to go to their own birthday party, and they have chosen war,” she wrote.

She sarcastically commented, “Super psyched… wooo can’t wait for party bags, cake, and piñatas.”
When they finally made it to the park for their festivities, Marlie took a minute to get into the spirit of things, and Laura dubbed her “attitude” as “threenager.”
But while one kid wasn’t feeling, the couple’s younger daughter Lola had the best time with fairy bread and dipping source.
Laura posted a picture of her baby smiling at the camera with food in her hands and wrote, “This kid, on the other hand, found nirvana amongst the fairy bread and tomato sauce.”
But Marlie-Mae finally perked up with the piñata came out, and she was able “to get some of the rage out.”

Once the celebrations ended, the proud mum shared a grid post on Instagram to pay tribute to her daughter and the busy day.
“Last week our spectacularly wild little beast turned three, so today we partied on down with her toddler posse, smacked a piñata and ate fairy bread covered in tomato sauce because Lola pre-dipped everything on the snacks table,” she wrote.
“Here’s to you Marlie-Moo moo you’re one sassy, funny, sensitive, wonderfully quirky kid and we are the luckiest people on earth to be your mum and dad. ❤️.”

Their fans also gushed over the young family, with one commenting, “Such a beautiful family shot x,” and another penned, “Happy 3rd birthday to your Marlie 💕 I’ve loved watching your family grow since The Bachelor.”
Matty and Laura are set to tie the knot at the end of the year. They met and fell in love on the fifth season of The Bachelor back in 2017.
