Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew has welcomed her second child with husband Neil Varcoe, a healthy baby boy they named Thomas.

The little bundle of joy arrived on Tuesday March 1, Edwina and Neil announcing the happy news just two days after.

“Some small news from our family,” the new mum captioned a touching photo of her son.

“Thomas Donald Elliott Varcoe born on the 1st of March, 2022. At such a difficult time for so many, many people, we hope Tom’s little face puts a smile on yours.”

She shared three photos; one shot of her darling little boy’s face, as well as a close up of his hands and of his feet.

Their gorgeous bub joins two-year-old big sister Molly, who Edwina and Neil couple welcomed back in 2019, rounding out the family of four.

The Australian Women’s Weekly caught up with the 38-year-old mum back in December, when she attended the Women of The Future luncheon and stole the show with her pregnancy glow.

“It feels long! I feel like I’m about 13 months pregnant,” she joked of her pregnancy at the time, “but it’s great I’ve been feeling really healthy and really good.”

The new mum-of-two also revealed that she hoped for another newborn like Molly, who wasn’t too much trouble in her first few months.

“You know what you’re in for and I’m not as worried or nervous this time around, because it all went quite well with Molly,” she said.

“Hopefully we have another Molly – they sleep well, and eat well, and it all goes to plan! Of course, that’s not what babies do!”

Though Edwina wouldn’t reveal her baby name ideas at the time, fans were thrilled when she chose Thomas for her new addition.

The charming name has Hebrew roots and means “twin” – perhaps a reflection of Edwina’s hope that her second child will be much like daughter Molly?

Edwina shares a cuddle with her eldest child, Molly.

The Sunrise star first announced she was expecting her second child in August 2021, much to the delight of her friends and family.

She shared several cheeky updates throughout her pregnancy, but faced an upsetting COVID-19 scare not long after announcing the news, when an infected person was identified as having worked on the Sunrise studio.

Edwina immediately went into isolation and fortunately tested negative for the virus.
