Former Home and Away star Rebecca Breeds, 32, is doing quite well for herself in Hollywood,

Since leaving behind the shores of Summer Bay for the bright lights of Los Angeles, the actress has picked up a number of US roles in high-profile shows like The Originals and Pretty Little Liars.

And now she’s bagged one of her biggest roles to date – nabbing the lead role in the CBS network’s Silence of the Lambs sequel.

Rebecca will play FBI Agent Clarice Starling, a character previously played by Jodie Foster in 1991’s Silence of the Lambs and Julianne Moore in 2001’s Hannibal.

Taking to Twitter after the news first broke, Rebecca shared her excitement, writing “Thank you thank you thank you for the role of a life time. Think I’ve earned myself a nice glass of Chianti…”‘

Now, the pilot has been picked up by US juggernaut network, CBS, guaranteeing it will make it to air.

According to People, Clarice is “a deep dive into the untold personal story of brilliant and vulnerable FBI Agent Clarice Starling as she returns to the field in 1993, six months after the events of The Silence of the Lambs.”

The series was announced as part of CBS’ 2020-2021 season, meaning we could see Rebecca on our screens very soon.

The actress also took to Instagram to share her excitement, writing: “Welp, I still have no words to do this justice.THANK YOU! @cbstv @mgm_studios and the whole team.”

Rebecca and Luke began dating in 2009 before the actor popped the question in 2012.

The couple then tied the knot in 2013 in a stunning ceremony held in New South Wales’ Kangaroo Valley.

“It’s another aspect of Home And Away that makes it so special,” Luke told TV Week of meeting Rebecca on set.

“We certainly spent most of our relationship on the show. And when I finally finished, we were engaged, and then we got married, and then we moved overseas.”
