''So little time is spent actually showing the reno and far too much on crybabies and drama.''

Accompanying the renovations on this season of The Block has been plenty of drama. From a walkout to a cheating scandal, the reality show has captivated many viewers.

One couple receiving plenty of screen-time is Ankur and Sharon, who have had a few run ins with their builders, as well as Scott Cam and Shelley Craft in recent weeks.

Now, Blockheads have shared their thoughts about the contentious couple, with some claiming their “negativity is ruining the show”.

“It’s really not enjoyable watching two people with no skills competing, one viewer wrote on reddit. “I’d much rather have everyone on the same playing field and then more time spent showing what they can achieve.

Another added to the commentary, writing: “I don’t mind they have no skills, the fact they continually complain that they have no skills and appear to have no desire to learn/ help/ develop skills is what irritates me. Their work ethic is terrible.”

A third echoed this opinion, penning: “There have been other couples before that had zero renovating experience, for example Andy and Deb, but that were able to grow with the show and learn as the show went along. S&A seem to actively avoid learning any skills. Plus, the skills they came into the competition with, like managing money, have not shown up.”

Some, however, came to Ankur and Sharon’s defence,

“They’re definitely not my kind of people; slack workers, whingers and liars but she is likely hormonal and exhausted,” a viewer mused.

Since the beginning of their Block journey, Sharon has promised to be vulnerable and open.

“Even though it’s a building show, for Ankur and me it was to really back each other and stand up for ourselves,” she told Refinery29.

“You’ll see moments like that happening throughout the season — owning your emotions, being upset when you’re upset, admitting that ‘I’m finding this really hard’ and asking for help — because I would really love to be in a world where all of that sort of stuff was normal.”
