''I have a platform, so why not use it for good and help people’’

”Fitness and health should be something you love,” Michael Brunelli says.

That’s why the former Married at First Sight (MAFS) husband founded his fitness program TruFit, a holistic health and wellbeing program created to help everyday Aussies create longterm, sustainable changes to their lives.

And whilst when speaking with Michael, it is clear that TruFit is where his passions lay, his road to founding his fitness company is surprising.

“I’m not a huge believer in fate, but you will become a believer once I tell you this story,” Michael tells Now to Love.

”I was a primary school teacher for seven years, I adored my kids and I loved my job but I had gotten to that point where I felt like my career was stale. Everything felt stagnated and I was enjoying my job less and less.”

According to Michael, he had ”two options” for where his life could go next.

”I wanted to leave the country or do something I had never thought I would do so I applied for a teaching job in Dubai and at the same time also sent in a video application for MAFS for a laugh.

”I didn’t hear anything from either options for a while but then I was offered interviews for both MAFS and the job in Dubai so I had this decision to make; do I go oversees and build on my career in a different country or do I do this crazy thing that is a once in a lifetime opportunity that would most likely end in a trainwreck?

”Shockingly, I chose the trainwreck possibility and was lucky enough to meet Martha. I didn’t expect to meet someone that I would fall in love with and still be with four years later and here with are. Fate has it that I made the right decision and I am a million times happier for that choice.”

Following his time on the show, Michael, alongside Martha, enjoyed a rapidly growing follower base on Instagram, and soon, an idea began to form.

”I had my personal training qualification from my university days and had experience training friends and family privately.

”I thought this (TruFit), was the natural progression for me. I’m a teacher, my mum is a teacher…it’s in my blood. So I figured that there wasn’t much difference between teaching kids about health and wellness and teaching adults about health and wellness so that was a really easy transition for me.

”My audience also trusted me in that world as well, it wasn’t completely new as well. At the end of the day, me and Martha are raw and real online. We post the positives, the negatives, our successes, our failures, and with that I just thought why not help a few more people.”

”There is so much disinformation in the fitness industry and I was just sick of it, hearing about people going to extremes to loose weight, to be healthier and actually end up in a worse position than when they started.”

Speaking on the program, Michael said TruFit was uniquely placed in the fitness market.

”There is so much disinformation in the fitness industry and I was just sick of it, hearing about people going to extremes to loose weight, to be healthier and actually end up in a worse position than when they started.

”I know what you need to do, I know that there are small changes that you can make that are sustainable for your life that will help you in the long run.”

And now, Michael says, is the perfect time to sign up as TruFit gears up for a 30 Day ‘Reset’ Challenge which includes five at home workouts per week, programs for people who like to workout in a gym and access to resources on nutrition, eating habits and more created by a leading Australian dietician.

Whilst Michael and Martha have previously enjoyed a well balanced lifestyle, a rocky surprise pregnancy has turned their worlds upside down.

”The 30 Day Reset Challenge was born from the fact that I lost focus on my own physical and mental health whilst Martha was unwell during her pregnancy. Because I was focusing so much on her, mixed in with the anxiety of feeling helpless watching her suffer I got to a point where I basically broke.”

”I wasn’t liking what I was seeing in the mirror and was trapped in my own thoughts, where to be frank, was a place no one would ever want to be be with the way I was thinking.”

”It’s mixed because we are so excited to become parents but on the flipside, Martha suffered so much so it really turned on the negative emotions for me and I hit rock bottom.”

That’s when, according to Michael, a ”lightbulb” moment popped up in his mind.

”I thought, there is still a little bit of time left in 2022 where I can make some changes, get back on track and hit the reset button and then I went well, why not help other people while I am helping myself?

”People are already looking towards their new years resolutions, forgetting that there is still time in the year to improve your health and finish up on a positive note.”

The 30 Day ‘Reset’ Challenge starts November 22. You can sign up here.
