Long before Married At First Sight became all about wine throwing, partner swapping and drama, the Channel Nine show was a lot more wholesome and saw several genuine couples fall in love and give it a red-hot go in the real world.

Season two breakout star “Farmer Mark”, aka Mark Hughes was one such name, who dated his TV wife Christie Jordee for several months after the show wrapped.

While the pair didn’t make it in the real world, Mark has since moved on with long-term partner Marie Angeleski and just this week, the couple announced they’re expecting their second child together.

Taking to Instagram to share a comical birth announcement, the one-time reality TV star uploaded a photo of himself with pillows placed up his shirt to make him look pregnant.

“Happy to announce we are expecting!! 😬😬😬😬 @marieangeleski,” Mark captioned the shot, which also featured his three-year-old daughter Stevie and partner Marie getting in on the fun.

The couple’s second child is due in December.

Meanwhile Marie posted an ultrasound photo and revealed the couple had fought hard for their “rainbow baby” – a term used when a family welcome a healthy baby after suffering through pregnancy loss.

“After the hardest journey with ups and downs and heartbreak over the years, baby Hughes number 2 is due early December….. we feel so, so grateful and can’t wait to meet the little one later this year. 🌈,” she penned.

“Thankyou to the friends who have supported me and been there for us. Stevie is pumped too! #babyhughes #rainbowbaby @mark.hughes_.”

Mark’s MAFS co-star Clare Verrall was quick to send her well wishes, writing: “Congratulations ❤️.”

Mark has been with Marie since 2016 and the couple are already the proud parents to a three-year-old daughter called Stevie.

The soon to-be father-of-two found fame after falling in love with Christie Jordee on the 2016 series of the Channel 9 dating show.

The pair were determined to give their romance a shot, however a few months after the show had wrapped, they confirmed to Woman’s Day their romance had come to an end after long distance proved too much of a challenge, with Christie based in Sydney and Mark on a property in rural Victoria.

“We were starting to fall in love but our heads got in front of our hearts,” Christie explained, admitting it was a tough decision to end their seven-month relationship.

Mark went public with his romance with Marie back in October 2016.

Congratulations to the expanding family!
