As one half of radio’s most successful duo, Jackie “O” Henderson is used to sharing a myriad of her details from her personal life on her KIIS FM show.

But on Monday morning, Jackie took it to a whole new level by letting her co-host Kyle Sandilands tape her as she found out the results of her COVID test following the shutdown of The Masked Singer over the weekend after seven dancers tested positive to the virus.

“This is what happened. Jackie got a text message from the COVID19 response team in Melbourne with the result whether she is positive or negative with the coronavirus. A lot of people on the set got whisked away and tested positive. Here’s the results, play it now,” Kyle explained, before throwing to audio of the moment Jackie found out her results.

“Ahhh… Negative,” a relieved Jackie exclaimed.

“Oh my god! That is such a relief,” the 45-year-old added.

Reflecting on the nail-biting wait, Jackie admitted she’d convinced herself she had the virus.

“I was actually panicked inside all last night so I’m so happy about that. I woke up last night and I had a really sore throat! Then I couldn’t get back to sleep cause I was like, ‘I’ve got it! I’ve got it.’ So I’m really happy I got that negative result,” she said.

“I feel for the dancers, they put in a hell of a lot of hard work on that show,” Kyle commented.

“They’re so beautiful. They’re all young and they’re just so sweet Kyle. I’m feeling for them cause it’s kind of a shock for them,” Jackie revealed.

“You’ll find out whether any of the actual celebrities behind the masks have got the virus, or the other celebrities on the panel as well,” Kyle asked his co-host, who is currently self-isolating in Melbourne.

“Yeah, we’ll find out. We’re in a group text thing at the moment,” Jackie said.

The Melbourne-based set of The Masked Singer was forced to shutdown on Saturday evening just moments before the taping of the grand finale after several dancers from the show tested positive to COVID19.

“The entire production team, including the masked singers, the host and panellists are now in self-isolation. They are all being monitored closely and are in constant contact with medical authorities,” a statement from Channel 10 said.

The show will continue to air episodes as usual on Mondays and Tuesdays. As for how they will tackle the grand finale remains to be seen.

According to the show’s host Osher Günsberg, the team are working behind-the-scenes to figure out how they can bring the Masked Singer finale to life.

“We are doing everything we can to make the last show, we wouldn’t want to leave you hanging. Our team have worked SO hard to keep us all safe on set, and as soon as we can figure out how to get back to it – we’re on it,” Osher explained on Monday.
