When Bachelorette Angie Kent was diagnosed with endometriosis five years ago, her life was turned upside down.
In true Angie style, however, the 29-year-old hasn’t let the condition stand in her way, although she’s had to start baby-planning earlier than she anticipated.
“I think there is pressure [to have a baby] once a woman gets to 30,” Angie tells TV WEEK. “I already felt that pressure.”
Post-surgery, The Bachelorette Australia star made an effort to educate herself about the medical condition and how it might affect her falling pregnant.
“My doctor told me I’m fine,” Angie explains, “But what about when I want to have kids? I know from my research that I have to start thinking about it in the next few years – or at least start prepping my body now.”
While Angie says preparing for a baby now is sometimes hard to wrap her head around, she prefers to see the positive side.
“I was relieved [by the diagnosis], because I finally had answers as to why I’d been in such pain for such a long time,” she says. “It’s so crazy, but I think everything happens for a reason.”

“If I’m meant to be a mum, I’ll be a mum, even if it’s not me carrying a child,” she says.
The bubbly former Gogglebox Australia and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star has tried to apply that same positive attitude when seeing social media backlash about her appearing on The Bachelorette Australia.
“I try to stick to my social pages – that’s where the positivity stays,” Angie says, yet admitting it’s not always possible to avoid hateful comments.
“When I’m feeling down, it’s like misery loves company,” Angie explains. “Among the millions of beautiful things people say, I’ll focus on the one nasty thing.”
