Royal fans, prepare yourselves – the world’s most well known aristocratic family are about to reunite with a fizz, a bang and a whole lot of pomp.

Plans for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 are already underway, and Buckingham Palace have shared an update on what we can expect for the momentous and history-making occasion.

Announced on Instagram last night The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which marks 70 years since the Queen’s accession to the throne, will be celebrated from Thursday June 2 to Sunday June 5 next year.

Over the course of the long weekend (which will be a four-day bank holiday in the UK!), events will include the annual Trooping the Colour, the Lighting of the Platinum Jubilee Beacons, a Service at St Paul’s Cathedral, a live concert at the Palace, a Jubilee lunch and, just to top it off, a Jubilee Pageant.

Yes, we’re also speechless at the list – they really are going all out!

Let’s just take a moment to process all of this.

Firstly, Trooping the Colour will no doubt be an incredible moment of fanfare for the royals, who have had to scale back the pomp-filled event for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With hope, the restrictions will be significantly less by June 2022, so hopefully we see it back in all its glory.

The last major Trooping The Colour was held in 2019.

Next up, we’d like to address this live concert, named Platinum Party at the Palace.

If that’s not a party we would give an arm and leg to attend we don’t know what is.

And don’t even get us started on this Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

Honestly, we’re probably going to combust or burst into confetti throughout the four day duration – this is truly the ultimate royal extravaganza.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is going to be one of the biggest royal events in recent history.

Another point to note is the very likely feat that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will return to the UK to celebrate with the Queen and the family.

And yes, this means they’ll get to hang out with Duchess Catherine and Prince William of course – and perhaps we’ll even get a glimpse of the two Sussex kids, Archie and a soon-to-be baby girl!

Yep, we’ll just be over here mentally preparing ourselves for a royally perfect feast for the eyes. See you there…
