Royal fans have been keeping their eyes peeled for any peep from Sarah Ferguson after her daughter, Princess Eugenie, gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday.

And finally Sarah, also known as Fergie, has publicly responded with one simple word to sum it up.

During lockdown last year, the Duchess of York set up a YouTube channel, where she read books for children to enjoy while they remained isolated in their homes.

The Duchess is still going strong with her channel, now garnering a cool 7,000 subscribers and thousands of views on each of her videos.

And in her latest video, released this week, Sarah appeared to make a sweet reference to her new grandson, telling the camera: “Mums and dads, aunts and uncles…,” before adding: “Granny and grandpa!”

Sarah pointed to the camera as she said, “grandpa”.

Sarah’s excitement was apparent in the video as she animatedly read the story The Unicorn and the Lost Cat by Claire Philip.

It is also believed Sarah’s reference to “grandpa” was because Sarah’s former husband, and father of Princess Eugenie Prince Andrew was behind the camera.

The royals’ excitement was clear.

Princess Eugenie shared news her baby had arrived this week with a simple Instagram post, which included a black and white photo of Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank’s hands touching the tiny hand of their child.

Eugenie simply captioned the picture with blue loveheart emoji’s and several exclamation marks.

It’s expected that a name, and potentially some more images of the newborn royal baby will be released in the coming days.

Given excitable grandmother Sarah hasn’t yet posted anything official about her new grandson, it seems likely she’ll be waiting on this Palace announcement.

Sarah has always been first to comment and celebrate her daughters’ milestones.

When Eugenie first announced she was pregnant, Sarah was among those front and centre wishing her daughter a big congrats.

And when her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice became engaged to her now-husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Sarah led the charges of congratulatory messages.

“I know what a mother feels so I have tears of joy. I am so proud of this sensational news. Andrew and I are just the luckiest people ever to have two great sons in law,” she wrote at the time.

Sarah is the biggest supporter of her two daughters.
