Princess Mary has put a smile on the faces of sick children during her latest royal outing. The Danish royal donned a pink jumper and a red nose as she joined the hospital clowns to entertain the ward, even reading them a bedtime story.

“The admitted children at Herlev Hospital received a “goodnight visit” last night by Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess and the hospital clowns Sally and Viola 🤹 💫,” a statement read on the office Danish royal Instagram.

“With a goodnight story, magic dust and balloon animals the children were safely sent off to dreamland by Kronpri the ness and the clowns.”

During the month of November, the Danish Hospitalsklovne association conducts evening visits for hospitalised children as a supplement to the regular day visits.

“On arrival at Herlev Hospital the Crown Princess was received by Agnes aged 11, who has been hospitalised frequently and has known the hospital clowns since she was very little,” the statement added.

Royal fans were quick to delight in Mary’s visit in the comments.

The visit comes after Mary and her daughter Princess Josephine attended the annual Hubertus Hunt at The Woodland Park Dyrehaven in Klampenborg, Denmark.

The Australian-born sported beige checkered trousers accompanied by two puffer jackets, cream gloves and a blue hat. Josephine, 11, wore a matching jacket, paired with denim jeans and a green scarf. While her mother’s hair cascaded over her shoulders, the 11-year-old tied her locks back into a smart pony-tail.

“🍂We are ready for an autumn day in the woods and the annual Hubertus hunt,” a post on the official Danish royal Instagram wrote.

The event has been occurring since 1900 as a continuation of a 17th century practice which saw riders chase a fox through the Dyrehaven, which was once reserved for royalty.

The park is 1,100 hectares and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
