Princess Mary and her daughter Princess Josephine were the picture of equestrian chic as the attended the annual Hubertus Hunt at The Woodland Park Dyrehaven in Klampenborg, Denmark.

The royals marked the occasion on the official Danish royal Instagram page, sharing photos of the two women from the event, along with some white horses.

The Australian-born sported beige checkered trousers accompanied by two puffer jackets, cream gloves and a blue hat. Josephine, 11, wore a matching jacket, paired with denim jeans and a green scarf. While her mother’s hair cascaded over her shoulders, the 11-year-old tied her locks back into a smart pony-tail.

The event has been occurring since 1900 as a continuation of a 17th century practice which saw riders chase a fox through the Dyrehaven, which was once reserved for royalty.

The park is 1,100 hectares and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The event comes after Princess Mary was questioned about Queen Margrethe’s decision to strip royal titles from four of her grandchildren while on a tour of Vietnam.

“I have nothing more to add to what I already said. I hope you didn’t travel all the way here to ask that question. Do you have any other questions?” Mary responded.

“Princess Marie told me that your relationship is complicated,” the journalist said.

“I have nothing further to add.”

Queen Margrethe announced her decision in late September 2022 and revealed she hoped her grandchildren could “shape their own lives without being limited by the special considerations and duties” that coincide with being royalty.

“Change can be extremely difficult and can really hurt. But this does not mean that the decision is not the right one,” Princess Mary told Danish paper Ekstra Bladet.

Mary also confessed that her own children – Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent – could also lose their titles when the time comes.

The royal titles will officially be stripped as of January 1, 2023. The grandchildren will be identified as their excellencies and will become counts and countesses.
