Royal fever has reached an all-time high as not only have the Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in Australia, but they have of course, announced the impending arrival of a baby!

In news that has royal punters around the world rejoicing, Kensington Palace confirmed that Meghan, 37, is expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry, 34.

In a statement released on Monday evening Australian time, the Palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.”

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public. “

While the whole world is absolutely ecstatic by the news, there are none more-so than the bookies who have already set up betting on what the child’s moniker may be.

According to Sportsbet, Diana is at the top of the betting for baby names at $9.00, a nod to Harry’s late mum of course, and Arthur and Alice – joint second favourites at $14.

The ever popular baby names; Olivia, Emily and Sophie or David, Thomas and Harry have very little chance of being chosen, according to the betting company, so sit at a high $67.

There’s also another question on everybody’s lips (besides the gender). What colour the baby’s hair will be?

Brown is the favourite at $1.53 and to take after Harry’s infamous ginger locks is considered a $3.60 chance – only time will tell!

You can also bet on when Meghan is due to give birth, with her being tipped to be delivering the bundle of joy in either April or May next year ($3.00).

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle are expecting and the bets are on for the baby’s name!

So now that we have a royal baby on the way, what royal title will the little baby have bestowed on them?

Apparently, as reported by PEOPLE, the dukedom given to Harry and Meghan can, by Royal law, only be passed on to a future son (yes, this means that if their baby is a girl, she will not inherit a title).

So, this means if Harry and Meghan don’t have any sons, the title will simply die out.

To be honest, we don’t know how this will fair with Meghan, who, even on the Royals’ official website, is quoted as stating: “I am proud to be a woman and a feminist.”

As previously reported by Now To Love, there is potential for all of this to change; at the end of the day, Queen Elizabeth can make the decision to bestow the children with prince or princess titles.

We saw her make some tweaks with the rules for her grandson Prince William’s children.

The new baby will be a cousin for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

HRH Prince George, while young Charlotte should have been Lady Charlotte Mountbatten-Windsor.

But in 2012, Her Majesty decided there needed to be a change.

Now the ruling states that, “all the children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales should have and enjoy the style, title and attribute of royal highness with the titular dignity of Prince or Princess prefixed to their Christian names or with such other titles of honour.”

Well, considering that Harry could be the Queen’s favourite grandchild, she could very well change the titledom for Harry and his kids.

We guess only time will tell and we honestly cannot wait!
