Meghan Markle hasn’t been the Duchess of Sussex for long, but she quickly established that her signature colour was going to be blush pinks, creams and whites.

From her first solo outing with the queen to her most recent outing at the Young Leaders Awards Ceremony, the new royal has stunned in neutral tones.

But this morning, she threw a curveball with her canary yellow dress. In a nod to her motherland’s 4th of July celebrations, she chose to wear American designer Brandon Maxwell’s creation, which featured a high, straight neckline, no sleeves and a shin-grazing hem.

She accessorised with Manolo Blank ‘BB Pumps’ in nude suede and a pair of diamond earrings by Adina Reyter, looking a dream from head to toe.

On the runway, the Brandon Maxwell dress was cinched with a yellow belt and shoes a touch brighter than the Duchess’.

The couple were attending the Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge reception at Marlborough House in London where they were introduced to youngsters across the Commonwealth.

Youth from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga—countries Harry and Meghan will visit on their royal tour later this year—listened to the Prince’s speech on the future and their role in shaping it.

Meghan’s royal wardrobe was the talk of the town earlier this week thanks to the steep price tag.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Meghan has spent $1 million USD (around $1.36 million AUD) since joining the royal family.

As much as we love the Duchess in her iconic neutral shades, we adore this flash of unabashed colour.
