Appearances from both Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are few and far between these days, after they stepped back from their senior royal roles at the beginning of the year.

But that simply means that it’s all the more glorious when we do get a glimpse of the royal pair – and today we got to see exactly that.

The royal duo made an appearance from their new Santa Barbara mansion in TIME magazine’s live broadcast to celebrate the announcement of their annual 100 Most Influential People list.

In an historic move, the magazine announced the list via a live virtual broadcast on American network ABC.

Joining the two royals were plenty more familiar faces, including the likes of John Legend, Sanra Oh and Trevor Noah.

Harry and Meghan joined ranks with some of the US’s most influential names for the broadcast.

Wearing a burgundy shirt and with her hair loose, Meghan’s fashion was on point as per usual, but it was her words that really struck a chord.

Speaking about the upcoming US election, she urged people to vote: “Every four years, we’re told, ‘This is the most important election of our lifetime.’ But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action, and our voices are heard.”

Harry also put in his two cents, telling watchers that while he himself would be unable to vote, and had also never been able to vote in the UK given his royal status, this election was more important than ever.

“This election, I’m not going to be able to vote in the US, and many of you may not know that I haven’t been able to vote in the UK my entire life,” he said.

“As we approach this November, it’s vital we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity.”

The pair urged watchers to vote in the impending US election.

TIME‘s president Ian Orefice previously said in a statement of the special broadcast event: “In a year in which we are unfortunately unable to convene the TIME100 community together in person, we are excited to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of the members of this year’s list with a brand-new experience on ABC that will allow more people to participate than ever before.”

The broadcast will also pay homage to the “extraordinarily of this year”.

In the coming weeks and months, its expected we’ll see a lot more of Prince Harry and Meghan as they continue to expand their new foundation, Archewell.

After moving to Los Angeles in March shortly before the world went into lockdown, the pair settled right into Californian life.

They’ve already been spotted out and about on various occasions using their profile to promote various charitable initiatives and social causes.

With this in mind, TIME‘s influential event certainly seems like a solid start.
