Back in April, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex sent fans into a frenzy when they attended numerous events for the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
However, whilst during her time in the European country, the duchess also visited Dutch non-profit initiative Project Fearless and appeared as a guest coach at a girls’ entrepreneurship course.
In new photos shared by Project Fearless’ Instagram account, the Duchess of Sussex, dressed in a chic tan blazer and black pencil trousers, threw herself into activities with the girls.
“Today is the day! Project Fearless is officially 3 years old! 🎉” the post was captioned.
“To celebrate, we’ve been counting down our top 3 milestones from the last 3 Fearless years… and today’s milestone is extra special.
“Year 3 – Milestone 3: Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, joins our Entrepreneurship course as a guest coach. Earlier this year, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex joined our first Entrepreneurship course as a guest coach!”
The post also revealed that during her visit, Meghan “gave the girls inspiring and encouraging feedback on their sustainable business pitches, and enthusiastically joined in with a group exercise on facing fears.”
“Safe, supportive spaces like Project Fearless allow girls the opportunity to express themselves, build each other up, gain resilience, and tackle new challenges,” Meghan remarked.
Meanwhile Project Fearless founder Mérida Miller said: “The duchess’ visit was a brilliant way to celebrate the impact Project Fearless has made over the last three years, introducing the girls to an accessible role model who is making a difference and using her voice.”
Throughout her life, Meghan has been passionate about gender equality and female empowerment.
When she was just 11-years-old, she wrote to Procter & Gamble after seeing an advertisement for Ivory dishwashing soap that declared, “Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”
“It really set up the trajectory for me to say, if there was a wrong, if there is a lack of justice, and there is an inequality, then someone needs to do something. And why not me?”
In the end, the company changed their slogan to “people all over America”.
Before her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan became a United Nations Women’s Advocate for Women’s Political Participation and Leadership in 2015 and two years later journeyed to India with World Vision to meet women and girls impacted by the stigma of menstrual health.
Even as a royal her patronages reflected her passion with one of them being Smart Works, an organisation which helps women prepare for job interviews.
Today, Meghan and Harry’s non-profit Archewell champions other organisations and individuals campaigning for gender equality.
