Smiling politely as she stood between two of the world’s most famous reality stars, the Duchess of Sussex’s modest mother Doria Ragland certainly stood out at This Is About Humanity’s fifth charity gala in Los Angeles.
But even more noticeable was how keen momager Kris Jenner looked to be in the company of Doria, who insiders say she’s been desperate to befriend!
The relentless reality star matriarch was seen smiling from ear to ear when she posed with Doria, 67, at the gala in LA recently, and her most famous daughter, Kim Kardashian, looked equally pleased to be mingling with almost royalty.
And it’s no wonder Kris, also 67, looked like the cat that got the cream – she’s been trying to get to Doria, and more directly, her daughter Meghan, for years!

“Becoming Doria’s most trusted adviser has become Kris’ mission in life,” an insider tells Woman’s Day.
“She’s like a vulture circling the Sussexes and she’s convinced she’s the only one who knows how to turn their fortunes around.”
Among the projects we’re told that Kris would love to spearhead for the Sussexes are a reality format show with Meghan, 42, and her husband Prince Harry, 38, or “even just a short series following Doria with the cameras”.

But Kris didn’t become the world’s most successful momager with a net worth of $265 million without playing the long – and smart – game when it comes to business.
“Kris knows the way to Meghan is through her mum, and bonding with Doria isn’t as strange a match as it might seem. They’re both mums of very famous women, going through their love/hate wars with the press,” the source explains.
“There’s a real warrior spirit running through both of them and Kris has had some wise words for Doria already.”
While Meghan and the Kardashian-Jenner family have never been seen crossing paths in public, it seems Kris has been trying to find her way into the duchess’ inner circle for years.
In early 2020, Kris had “repeatedly tried” to organise a meeting with Meghan and Harry, says an insider.

“Apparently Doria took down the number for a florist that Kris had in her phone,” says the source.
“Kris has been inviting her to a host of private spas and luncheons where there won’t be any photographers, so she can do what she does best – business. “
“She has her eyes on the prize and knows she can get Meghan a show, fashion line, homewares – you name it – with just the snap of her fingers.”
