The Princess of Wales has shared a touching flashback image while promoting her new campaign, but royal watchers can’t help but see a striking family resemblance.

While promoting Shaping Us, Kate Middleton shared an image of herself with her dad, Michael.

“‘Faces are a baby’s best toy’,” she began.

“On Tuesday we launched #ShapingUs to raise awareness of the vital role our early years play in shaping the rest of our lives.

“I hope you’ll also consider joining me in sharing a picture of yourselves before your fifth birthday to help with those conversations and to share some smiles and memories too.”

She encouraged followers to spend time with friends, families and colleagues and talk “about your early childhoods and how they’ve shaped your lives”.

“These are the most preventative years.”

But fans couldn’t help but believe the young princess was her son Prince Louis.

“I thought it was Prince Louis,” one commented.

“Louis is your TWIN”.

Another fan commented: “Louis or Catherine?! Mummy’s twin”.

The new campaign from the Royal Foundation Centre of Early Childhood aims to raise awareness of how our early experiences, relationships and surrounds can shape our lives.

“It affects everything from our ability to form relationships and thrive at work, to our mental and physical well-being as adults and the way we parent our own children,” Kate said in a previous statement.

“These are the most preventative years. By focusing our collective time, energy, and resources to build a supportive, nurturing world around the youngest members of our society and those caring for them, we can make a huge difference to the health and happiness of generations to come.

“Whether we are directly involved in a child’s life or not, the princess reveals we are all responsible for creating a safe and more compassionate society where “our children can grow, learn and live.”

Since the Shaping Us campaign launched, Kate has visited the University of Leeds to talk to students learning about early childhood development and talked to UK radio presenter Roman Kemp on mental health.
