Over the weekend, fans were thrilled to bear witness to a brand new professionally shot image of Duchess Catherine.

Of course, these kinds of candid, behind-the-scenes frames of the Duchess come few and far between. So you can’t really blame us and every other royal fan unpacking every detail of it.

But there was one other thing fans couldn’t help but notice – a particular trend of the Duchess’, if you will. And let’s just say it’s orchestrating a whole new movement for country chic.

The photo came in line with some exciting news: Duchess Catherine’s photography initiative from lockdown, named Hold Still is set to be immortalised in a new coffee table-style book.

The campaign last year, which was in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, invited people from all over the world to send in their own individual images that encapsulated what life was like for them during the pandemic.

From heartbreaking moments of loved ones reaching to each other through windows, to doctors and nurses with their heads in their hands – the photography was striking and memorable.

It captured a moment in time – a moment so important that it deserved to be immortalised.

“When we look back at the COVID-19 pandemic in decades to come, we will think of the challenges we all faced – the loved ones we lost, the extended isolation from our families and friends and the strain placed on our key workers,” the Duchess wrote in the book’s introduction.

“But we will also remember the positives: the incredible acts of kindness, the helpers and heroes who emerged from all walks of life, and how together we adapted to a new normal.

“Through Hold Still, I wanted to use the power of photography to create a lasting record of what we were all experiencing – to capture individuals’ stories and document significant moments for families and communities as we lived through the pandemic.”

Accompanying the release of the book was a gorgeous snap of ate captured by renowned royal photographer Matt Porteous.

In the candid snap, Kate, who is a keen photographer herself, is seen laughing as she takes her own snap in the field of her country home in Norkfolk.

Of course, there was one extra detail about the photograph fans couldn’t help but talk about – Kate’s gorgeous countryside outfit.

The Duchess paired a red crew neck knit over a white shirt by Sezane, which featured a pie crust collar.

The rouge hue looked perfect against an autumnal backdrop – and it’s a trend the Duchess certainly is no stranger to.

In 2016, Duchess Catherine featured in a cover photoshoot for British Vogue – and in the incredible snaps captured in the Norfolk countryside, Kate rocks several more red-hued looks.

We’ll just leave these here – and with the above image in mind, we can safely assume Kate’s thoroughly inspired many to wear a warm red-hued outfit, pronto.
