David Beckham has revealed his fondness for cooking for Victoria and the kids – plus what all the family’s favourite dishes are.

In extra unseen footage on the DVD of his TV Special Into The Unknown, David Beckham has revealed how he is obsessed with making fresh homemade pasta ever since he did a six-month course at a professional cookery school while he was in Italy playing for Milan.

David said: “When I was in Italy the culinary course was one of the things I always wanted to do.”

“So I had the time and I thought, why not? The kids love Italian, so I can make fresh pasta from scratch.”

David’s been stretching his culinary interests to a taste for fine liquor too, having recently launched his own whisky line.

He has previously revealed to the UK’s Times magazine how he has been enjoying getting far more involved with the kids and cooking in his retirement from football.

“I have been away such a lot with my career. I just feel that when I am with them, I should do everything possible.”

As well as pasta, David’s other favourite dish is risotto. “I was obsessed with perfecting risotto because it is difficult: you have to constantly stir and add ingredients,” he told The Times magazine.

It’s sounds like it’s a family favourite hit with the kids too: “Actually, I love cooking. It relaxes me. The kids love it too. Especially when I make Milanese risotto with saffron.”

David also revealed that Victoria, unsurprisingly likes to keep it lean: “Victoria is easy. She loves vegetables and she loves salad, so Victoria’s easy.”

Victoria has also previously revealed her diet secrets and how she is a fan of alkaline eating.

Earlier this year David helped cook healthy meals with British schoolkids in an advertisement as part of his spokesperson role for British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s.

David’s love of food extends to the more exotic too as he shared with his Facebook fans a delicious meal that he enjoyed at his favourite restaurant in Singapore on his recent tour of Asia.

Celebrities and friends of the couple were treated to a lavish dinner party to mark the launch of the new line.
