Television and radio personality Chrissie Swan has broken down into tears while remembering the physical and mental state she was in before making a major change to her daily routine.

While speaking on The Imperfects podcast, Chrissie confessed she felt like her life was “halfway” over at only 45-years-old.

Chrissie really changed her life after 45!

“I was 45 and I went, ‘I reckon I’m halfway to dying’,” she said.

“Am I happy with this going on? Am I happy with who I am with other people, am I happy with who I am for me? What do I want to change?”

During Melbourne’s extensive COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, Chrissie began walking daily which was a major contributing factor to her weight loss journey.

Something as simple as walking either an hour a day or 10 kilometers a month, changed her life and gave the mum an outlet to process difficult choices.

Walking helped improve Chrissie’s mental health.

“I started to walk, and I get emotional thinking about it, because walking has absolutely changed my life,” she said.

“Every day I walk if there’s anything troubling me…. I always get the answer.”

In 2022, she even labeled herself as the “crazy walking lady” on Instagram, but she also gave up alcohol and began meditating regularly.

From what we can gather, the age 45 seemed like a year of reflection for Chrissie after revealing it was the age she realised she deprioritised herself for others.

“I was 45 and I thought, I’m not having much fun. To be honest, I was doing exactly what most women do and I was putting everyone first,” she informed 7News.

“I realised I liked being alone. It’s very important for me to be by myself.”

Three years later at 48-years-old, Chrissie split from her partner of 15 years, Chris Saville and started embracing her best single life!

“We are the mothers, the friends and the wives… we’re supposed to get our life blood from being of service to people, and that wasn’t true for me at all,” she said.
