If you felt like every time you opened Instagram this year to see that another celebrity baby had been born, you weren’t alone.

The jokes from 2020 about an incoming ‘COVID baby boom’ became a reality this year, with dozens of our favourite Aussie celebrities (and royals) welcoming little bundles of joy.

Reality stars, TV presenters and models either added to their broods or welcomed babies to the world for the first time ever, making it an especially special occasion.

Take a look at all the gorgeous celebrity babies who came into the world in 2021.

Laura Byrne and Matty ‘J’ Johnson’s daughter Lola

The Bachelor couple, who already share two-year-old daughter Marlie-Mae, welcomed little Lola on February 4.

“Welcome to the world my precious little Lola Ellis Johnson,” Laura wrote on Instagram.

“I said I would eat my own poop if you were a girl, and yet HERE YOU ARE! Already teaching me the worldly life lessons that come with being a mama,” she added.

Matt also celebrated Lola’s birth on his own Instagram.

“Lola Ellis Johnson… you had us all fooled! Everyone from your Mum, your Nana, the neighbour and even the postman thought you were going to be a boy. Playing pranks on us all already… I love it!” he wrote.

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell’s daughter Grace Warrior

One of Australia’s most-anticipated babies, Grace Warrior, was born to Bindi and Chandler in March this year – the first grandchild of the late Steve Irwin.

The bundle of joy was born on March 25 – the couple’s first wedding anniversary. Her middle names ‘Warrior Irwin’ are a tribute to Steve, with Warrior representing his Wildlife Warrior status, and of course his last name attached.

“There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.

Tracey Jewel and son Frankie

Former MAFS contestant Tracey Jewel and her husband Nathan Constable welcomed their first child together, a son named Frankie, earlier this year.

Frankie, who is Tracey’s second child, came into the world via emergency C-section on March 18.

“He’s a strong feisty little man (no wonder with his hard kicks) and so enjoying our little love bubble,” Tracey shared one week after his birth.

Mary Viturino and Conor Canning’s daughter, Summer Elizabeth Canning

Mary and Conor, who are one of Bachelor in Paradise‘s most successful love stories, welcomed Summer in March.

The little bub came six weeks earlier than planned but captured her parents’ hearts immediately.

“I feel like she’s already a Daddy’s girl,” Mary wrote on Instagram.

After the whirlwind finale of the show, Mary revealed she and her six-year-old daughter (from a previous relationship) had relocated to Tasmania and were living with Connor.

Zara and Mike Tindall

Zara and Mike Tindall’s son Lucas Philip Tindall

Princess Anne’s daughter and her former rugby player husband welcomed baby number three and their first son on March 21.

However Lucas, whose middle name is a sweet tribute to Zara’s grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh, made quite the dramatic entrance into the world.

“Arrived very quickly. Didn’t make it to hospital. On the bathroom floor. So yeah, it was running to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get the mat on the floor, towels down, brace, brace, brace,” Mike explained on his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugb‪y.

“Fortunately the midwife who was going to meet us at the hospital wasn’t that far away so she drove up just as we had assumed the posit (position) and the second midwife arrived just after the head had arrived.”

Fiona Falkiner and Hayley Willis’ son, Hudson

The former Biggest Loser host and her fiancee Hayley welcomed their first child, a boy named Hudson, on March 22.

“For 2 years you were a dream, over 9 months we watched you grow. In a second you stole our hearts, and showed us a love we did not know 💙,” Fiona shared to Instagram.

The couple have been open and honest about their IVF journey and struggles to fall pregnant.

Hayley, who proposed to Fiona in April 2019 after a whirlwind eight-month romance, previously explained the pair both want to carry a child at some stage.

“Fi is going first because she is older. I really want to carry a bub too but Fi will go first just because of the body clock on fertility, so her going first is best,” Hayley told News Corp.

Jesinta and Buddy Franklin’s son Rocky

Jesinta and Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin’s second child, a son, arrived in March this year.

Although Jesinta was open about her pregnancy, she kept the details of the birth, and her son’s name, quiet for some time.

The arrival was announced via Buddy’s Instagram on March 24, with a picture of the Sydney Swans player holding his son, and a caption that read “Our Baby boy has arrived 💙.”

“Welcome to the world Paddy George Shepherdson,” she wrote on Instagram. “Words can’t describe how beyond in love we are with you. We are so grateful that you arrived happy and healthy and we will love and protect you forever.”

Since giving birth, Tara has been refreshingly honest about the realities of becoming a mum for the first time.

“I really struggle with taking time out for myself while working and being a mum,” she admitted on Instagram. “I feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day and I have this to-do list in my brain and it’s never complete and everyday I spend chasing my tail.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor

The second child of Harry and Meghan, Lilibet arrived on June 4.

Lilibet, or ‘Lili’ was named after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who went by the nickname Lilibet as a child. Some pointed out the hypocrisy in naming the baby after the head of the institution that Harry and Meghan willingly left 18 months ago, but others found it to be endearing.
