Baby love! All the bubs our favourite celebrities welcomed into the world in 2021

If you felt like every time you opened Instagram this year to see that another celebrity baby had been born, you weren’t alone.

The jokes from 2020 about an incoming ‘COVID baby boom’ became a reality this year, with dozens of our favourite Aussie celebrities (and royals) welcoming little bundles of joy.

Reality stars, TV presenters and models either added to their broods or welcomed babies to the world for the first time ever, making it an especially special occasion.

Take a look at all the gorgeous celebrity babies who came into the world in 2021.

Laura Byrne and Matty ‘J’ Johnson’s daughter Lola

The Bachelor couple, who already share two-year-old daughter Marlie-Mae, welcomed little Lola on February 4.

“Welcome to the world my precious little Lola Ellis Johnson,” Laura wrote on Instagram.

“I said I would eat my own poop if you were a girl, and yet HERE YOU ARE! Already teaching me the worldly life lessons that come with being a mama,” she added.

Matt also celebrated Lola’s birth on his own Instagram.

“Lola Ellis Johnson… you had us all fooled! Everyone from your Mum, your Nana, the neighbour and even the postman thought you were going to be a boy. Playing pranks on us all already… I love it!” he wrote.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank were thrilled to welcome their first baby, a son named August, in February.

August falls in 11th place in line to the throne, bumping the Queen’s youngest son Prince Edward down the pecking order one slot.

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell’s daughter Grace Warrior

One of Australia’s most-anticipated babies, Grace Warrior, was born to Bindi and Chandler in March this year – the first grandchild of the late Steve Irwin.

The bundle of joy was born on March 25 – the couple’s first wedding anniversary. Her middle names ‘Warrior Irwin’ are a tribute to Steve, with Warrior representing his Wildlife Warrior status, and of course his last name attached.

“There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.

Tracey Jewel and son Frankie

Former MAFS contestant Tracey Jewel and her husband Nathan Constable welcomed their first child together, a son named Frankie, earlier this year.

Frankie, who is Tracey’s second child, came into the world via emergency C-section on March 18.

“He’s a strong feisty little man (no wonder with his hard kicks) and so enjoying our little love bubble,” Tracey shared one week after his birth.

Mary Viturino and Conor Canning’s daughter, Summer Elizabeth Canning

Mary and Conor, who are one of Bachelor in Paradise‘s most successful love stories, welcomed Summer in March.

The little bub came six weeks earlier than planned but captured her parents’ hearts immediately.

“I feel like she’s already a Daddy’s girl,” Mary wrote on Instagram.

After the whirlwind finale of the show, Mary revealed she and her six-year-old daughter (from a previous relationship) had relocated to Tasmania and were living with Connor.

Zara and Mike Tindall

Zara and Mike Tindall’s son Lucas Philip Tindall

Princess Anne’s daughter and her former rugby player husband welcomed baby number three and their first son on March 21.

However Lucas, whose middle name is a sweet tribute to Zara’s grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh, made quite the dramatic entrance into the world.

“Arrived very quickly. Didn’t make it to hospital. On the bathroom floor. So yeah, it was running to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get the mat on the floor, towels down, brace, brace, brace,” Mike explained on his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugb‪y.

“Fortunately the midwife who was going to meet us at the hospital wasn’t that far away so she drove up just as we had assumed the posit (position) and the second midwife arrived just after the head had arrived.”

Fiona Falkiner and Hayley Willis’ son, Hudson

The former Biggest Loser host and her fiancee Hayley welcomed their first child, a boy named Hudson, on March 22.

“For 2 years you were a dream, over 9 months we watched you grow. In a second you stole our hearts, and showed us a love we did not know 💙,” Fiona shared to Instagram.

The couple have been open and honest about their IVF journey and struggles to fall pregnant.

Hayley, who proposed to Fiona in April 2019 after a whirlwind eight-month romance, previously explained the pair both want to carry a child at some stage.

“Fi is going first because she is older. I really want to carry a bub too but Fi will go first just because of the body clock on fertility, so her going first is best,” Hayley told News Corp.

Jesinta and Buddy Franklin’s son Rocky

Jesinta and Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin’s second child, a son, arrived in March this year.

Although Jesinta was open about her pregnancy, she kept the details of the birth, and her son’s name, quiet for some time.

The arrival was announced via Buddy’s Instagram on March 24, with a picture of the Sydney Swans player holding his son, and a caption that read “Our Baby boy has arrived 💙.”

Tara Pavlovic Shepherdson’s son Paddy

Bachelor alum Tara and her husband Nick Shepherdson’s first child together, a son named Paddy, was born on April 30.

Tara, who had always worked in childcare or as a nanny, was beyond thrilled with his arrival.

“Welcome to the world Paddy George Shepherdson,” she wrote on Instagram. “Words can’t describe how beyond in love we are with you. We are so grateful that you arrived happy and healthy and we will love and protect you forever.”

Since giving birth, Tara has been refreshingly honest about the realities of becoming a mum for the first time.

“I really struggle with taking time out for myself while working and being a mum,” she admitted on Instagram. “I feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day and I have this to-do list in my brain and it’s never complete and everyday I spend chasing my tail.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor

While Grace Warrior was the most highly anticipated baby in Australia, the whole world was waiting on the arrival of Lilibet.

The second child of Harry and Meghan, Lilibet arrived on June 4.

Lilibet, or ‘Lili’ was named after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who went by the nickname Lilibet as a child. Some pointed out the hypocrisy in naming the baby after the head of the institution that Harry and Meghan willingly left 18 months ago, but others found it to be endearing.

Sam Reitano’s daughter Armani Valentina Reitano

While Sam Reitano didn’t find love on his season of Farmer Wants a Wife, he has now found himself at the centre of a budding family.

Best known for quitting the reality show when he couldn’t make connections with his chosen top four, Sam found love with now-fiancée Katelen Cunningham not long after.

Armani Valentina Reitano came along on August 13.

“Welcome to the world my beautiful daughter. Armani Valentina Reitano ❤️ Born on the 13th of August at 3:34pm. This girl is going to be the best girl in the world, she’s going to be better than anyone ever knew :),” the happy dad shared on Instagram.

Alex Nation’s son Maxwell Keegan Jory

Another Bachie baby! Alex, the season four winner of The Bachelor, and her fiance Carson Jory welcomed Maxwell on August 20.

“His entrance was intense, and it was beautiful. We are so in love,” Alex shared on Instagram.

Alex said her 10-year-old son Elijah, who she shares with her former partner, is ” such fantastic big brother and helper”.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi

Just a few short months after her cousin Harry welcomed his bub, Princess Beatrice became a mum for the first time in September.

An official statement from Buckingham Palace announced that the little girl, who is Edo’s second child, was born at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London on Saturday September 18 at 11:42pm.

Sienna is an Italian derived name from the city of Siena in Tuscany whilst the middle name pays sweet tribute to her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth

Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven’s twin sons Levi and Tate

Another set of twins! The Married at First Sight stars welcomed their boys in October, 10 weeks before their due date.

While Little Tate and Levi are still being cared for in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), but the happy couple have barely left their side.

Bryce explained that while their lives have turned upside down, they want to use this experience to help support other parents with premature babies.

“Going from a few weeks ago literally not knowing anything about premature children, and the process of once they’re born to getting to getting them to term in-home, to basically knowing a hell of a lot about it now,” he said.

Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall’s son Hendrix Hawkins-Wall

This genetically-blessed family grew from three to four when the former Miss Universe welcomed her son in October 2021.

“Our little man wanted to say hello to the world earlier than expected and has needed some extra care but is now doing so well and is healthy and strong!!” Jen wrote on Instagram.

Jackie and Ben Gillies’ twin sons Bonham David and Rocco Ivan

In May, after a two-year journey and seven rounds of IVF, the Real Housewives of Melbourne star shared the heart-warming news that she was not only pregnant, but expecting twins!

Jackie and her husband Ben, a Silverchair drummer, welcomed their miracle twins boys in October.

She opened up on life as a new mother on her podcast, saying: “I feel like every day when I wake up I get so excited to see them – between the feeds, that is – after I’ve had a good sleep I’m going ‘oh I miss them already’,” she said.

Miranda Tapsell and James Colley’s daughter Grace Birri-Pa Purnarrika Colley

December saw the arrival of the Top End Wedding star and ABC writer’s first child – a baby girl.

Her name honours her Indigenous heritage as Birri-Pa is Larrakia for Butterfly and Purnarrika is Tiwi for Water Lily.

“Grace has entered the world adored by her mum and dad, as well as all her aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and so many more,” Miranda wrote shortly after her arrival.

“We are extremely grateful, overjoyed and so, so tired.”
