On Wednesday night, Shane Warne was farewelled by family, friends and fans at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), receiving tributes from Hugh Jackman to Kylie Minogue.

But all eyes were on the cricket legend’s three children Brooke, 24, Jackson, 22, and Summer, 20, when they took to the stage to share personal speeches honouring their dad.

From recalling fond memories to musing how he will never meet his grandchildren, the trio’s words moved everyone, including former AFL player and Shane’s friend Brendan Fevola.

Taking to Instagram following the service, Brendan shared a picture of himself, Shane and friends in their younger years and praised Brooke, Jackson and Summer.

“You would have been bloody proud of your kids tonight @shanewarne23,” he wrote in his caption.

“Can’t wait to sit in the Shane Warne Stand and watch the footy. See ya King 👑 till next time ❤️”

Following the news of Shane’s death earlier this month, Brendan shared a still from their time on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and shared his sympathies for the three Warne children and Shane’s ex wife Simone Callahan.

“Words can’t express how I’m feeling right now,” he captioned the post at the time.

“You were a true champion, a loyal friend but most of all an amazing Dad. You’ve left a huge hole in everyone’s hearts, RIP KING. Sending love to @brookewarne @jacksonwarne18 @summerwarne @simonecallahan 💔”

An incredible 55,000 people attended the state memorial for Shane with guests including Magda Szubanski, Dannii Minogue and Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

The eulogy was read by Shane’s dad Keith Warne who lovingly recalled how much family and cricket meant to him.

“Mate, your mother and I can’t imagine a life without you. You have been taken too soon and our hearts are broken,” he said.

“Thank you for all you did for us. And for being such a loving and caring son. Rest in peace, mate. Love you, Mum and Dad.”
