Earlier this month, Now To Love (joyfully – estatically, even) reported that Allison Langdon and Peter Stefanovic would be the new hosts of Weekend Today on the Nine Network.
And while we’re well aware of how eager fans of the show are to see this new TV duo in action (namely, us), it’s Pete’s wife, TODAY show journalist and newsreader Sylvia Jeffreys, who can’t contain her excitement.
“Welcome back to @thetodayshow family @allisonlangdon,” Sylvia posted on Instagram along with a picture of herself with Allison.
“You’re officially in charge of @peter_stefanovic on weekends, which won’t be hard so long as he’s well fed, hydrated and allowed to check premier league scores during ad breaks.”

This fun-loaded post comes just two weeks after Channel Nine confirmed that the former 60 Minutes reporters would be taking over the helm from Tom Steinfort and Deborah Knight.
“Pete is a great mate and has been for many years,” Allison said upon landing the role.
“We both take our journalism very seriously but not ourselves. We have a lot of laughs together and I look forward to sharing that with our Today audience alongside Jayne [Azzopardi], who is one of the best and hardest working journalists in the country,” the mother-of-one added.
This Sunday, Pete’s big brother, Karl Stefanovic, and new TODAY show host Georgie Gardner will be setting the alarms for 3:30am Monday morning, with the pair making their on-screen debut as co-hosts.
Georgie is taking the reigns from Lisa Wilkinson, who left the Nine Network in October last year.
