The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have charmed the locals in New Zealand on the third official day of their royal tour after visiting Blenheim.

The royal pair visited the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre where they were given a personal tour of the Centre’s collection of vintage planes by Sir Peter Jackson, much to the delight of Prince William.

The royal couple were presented with a tiny vintage flying helmet for Prince George.

“Oooh,” The Duchess said after opening the gift. “That’s brilliant,” she added, after thanking Sir Peter and the centre.

Earlier today, the Duke and Duchess arrived to waiting royal watchers of all ages, as they commemorated the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War by laying a wreath.

The duchess looked lovely in a blue, cotton Alexander McQueen coat, clinched at the waist with pleats at the back.

Prince William wore a navy jacket which displayed his war medals.
